DESCRIPTION
Pelican Bay is a 27-hole layout in an upscale residential community - in fact, one of the most desirable golf communities in SW Florida. The original course was designed by Arthur Hills in 1979 with mega developer, Westinghouse. Spanning the years 1988 thru 1992, the course was home to a Senior PGA event, The Aetna Challenge.
I assisted with the renovation of the courses around 2002, working with the original builder of the course, Wadsworth Golf Construction. I recall it was my only expereince working with longtime project manager, Wayne Ragsdale and Pelican Bay superintendent, Bob Bittner.
