Rogers Takes on Quail West

One of SW Florida’s premier golf communities and home to two, diverse golf courses - has retained JDR to direct plans for their improvement.

The Preserve Course was the initial installation for Quail West, designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 1992 and carved through a network of wetlands and forested area.  The course measures out at just over 6800 yards and is one of the more attractive and enjoyable courses to play in Naples.

A third nine was added in 1993, and another nine in 1995, which would eventually comprise the Lakes Course. Unlike the Preserve, the Lakes Course was developed in an entirely open setting, devoid of any vegetation or features.  The ground was nothing more than a tomato field when construction began.  As such, the layout is more expansive, more exposed to wind and elements… and a slightly longer test at over 7000 yards.

Since inception and still today, Quail West (now owned by Stock Development) carries the flag for opulent living in Naples, considered among very best of finest golf course communities in Naples and an overall environment of luxury living that stands among the most desirable location in SW Florida.

In 1997, and again in 1998, Quail West showcased its fine golf courses as they played host to the Senior PGA Tour’s Ace Classic.  The tournament made use of a combination of holes from both the Preserve and Lakes layouts.

Planning for both courses is on-going and will consider solutions to bring the course up to date in terms of overall course infrastructure and strategies to make the golf course more user-friendly, more enjoyable and more beautiful than ever.
